Why buy a telescopic pruner chainsaw?
We are dealing with a very specific type of product, intended for very specific jobs such as pruning the first lines of tree branches, for example. And we must be clear about this when we acquire this type of equipment.
It will not be useful for many other functions than for those it was intended, but in them it will save us much work and it will make it more comfortable, since we do not have to ride structures to get height or take risks.
Although its price is not crazy in average terms, it is still an investment to be made, so we have to consider the use we are going to give it.

Which one to buy?
Since they are very specific tools, we have to choose the one that best suits what we have to do.
In some cases, what can make us decide between one or the other may be a difference in the length of the lance or in the angle in which it can work, rather than purely technical aspects such as power.
It is also important to notice the lance (and our kidneys) suffers when working with these tools, so its quality is important, together with the anchorage systems that it uses. Most have some system of straps to facilitate their use and avoid carrying so much weight, but they are not complete in these ranges, so their effectiveness is minimal.
In this comparison we will assess the models that are connected to power by cable. In some brands there is also a wireless option, which can be an option but then increasing price and weight.
A very important issue in the use of this equipment is safety: it is absolutely necessary to use glasses or a protective mask, and also a helmet. Since we almost always look up when working with them, it is very easy for small fragments to fall on our face or head, and without protection that can become a major problem.
Which one is the best?

The well-known manufacturer in this comparison plays differently. Not in terms of its quality-price ratio, which is still the usual one, but because in this case it offers us a cordless saw, compared to its wireless competitors. This benefits you in terms of weight and price, but obviously it hurts you in terms of mobility.
As for the rest, in line with all the manufacturer’s products: good ergonomics and correct finishes. We especially liked the angulation system.

Black+Decker LPP120
In the usual line of the brand’s products: good value for money with the domestic market in mind.
We especially liked the scope up to 9.7 in. and its engine power, but a greater feeling of solidity in the lance would be appreciated. The fact that it does not have an angulation system is not a plus either.

- No angulation
Greenworks CS-80-XR
A good value for money as usual in this brand, and some curious points in its favor, such as the usb charger. We also especially liked how they solved the issue of chain tensioning.
On the negative side, the thread system of the lance does not seem particularly comfortable, although its range is good. And the weight shows.
With angulation fixed to about 30 degrees, in some work it can complicate our movements since it will not allow us to cut backwards.

WORX WG323
As usual in this manufacturer, they bet for a the competitive price. In this case, to achieve its battery-powered model, doing a two-in-one, with which the set is quite bulky, and can be bad when doing some tasks, as it is easier to get hooked in the branches.
It has a fairly contained weight, but more located at the top, so it is noticeable enough. Furthermore, the spear is forced.
His 12 inc. sword is appreciated at times, but if it is going to be used frequently as a telescope, there are better options.
